Philip C. Dorth, 83, of Rocky Mount, Missouri passed away Monday August 15, 2016 at his residence in Rocky Mount, Missouri.  He was born April 1, 1933 in Rolla, Kansas the son of the late George and Guinnie (Perkins) Dorth.  On May 6, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri he was united in marriage to Virginia “Ginny” (Comer) Dorth who survives of the home.

Sons, Steven Dorth & wife Sylvia of Kansas City, MO; David G. Dorth & wife Robin of Columbia, MO

 

Grandchildren, Madison S. Dorth, Blake Philip Dorth, Cameron Q. Dorth, Jeremy Wulser, Joshua & Joey Biesemeyer, Steven Powers

 

Eight Great Grandchildren

 

Niece, Brenda Biesemeyer of Smithton, MO

 

Sister, Irene LeRoy of Greenwood, AR

 

Sister in law, Margie Dorth of Independence, MO

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Dorth, five grandchildren & one great grandchild

 

Philip was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was the superintendent for the Concordia R-2 School District for nearly thirty years.  He was a deacon of and very active at Northshore Baptist Church of Rocky Mount, MO. and in the Boy Scouts participating in the Tribe of Mic-O-
Say.  He was a member of the Lion’s Club, the Missouri Association of Rural Education, MSTA, MRSA and the American Legion.

 

A previous Memorial Service was held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Concordia High School in Concordia, MO. where he was honored with a military ceremony.

 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Northshore Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, MO with Bro. Mark Kessler officiating.  Overflow parking will be at the Lion’s building on Hwy. Y with shuttle service to the church provided.

 

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are suggested to the North Shore Baptist Church van for their children’s ministry.
