William “Bill” Earl King, 73, of Eldon, Missouri passed away at home, Sunday, May 16, 2021. Bill was born May 1, 1948 in Iron County, Missouri to the late Cletis and Gleena (Scaggs) King. On April 4, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada he was united in marriage to Kitra M. (Reighard) King who survives of the home. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, son Thomas “Tom” Edward King (Sarah), and daughter Amie King Simmons (Steve). Grandchildren Elena, Anna and Charlie King and Matilda and Silas Simmons. Siblings include Rose Wilde (Jack), Brenda Utterback (Ron), and Robin King (Jane). Step Children Brad Casady, Miranda and Chris. Step Grandchildren include Baley Casady, Lexi, Trenton, and Trevor along with nieces, nephews, many friends and relatives.
Bill served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 with most of that time being in Vietnam. He was honored to do the Central Missouri Honor Flight Memorial visit to Washington D.C., received a Quilt of Valor and many medals. He was proud to be a soldier and also came from a family with several members serving in the military. His Father was in the Army; three Uncles were in the Navy and an Uncle was in the Air Force. His Grandfather also served in World War I and the rest were all in World War II and Korea. Bill was a former owner of County Glass and Mirror in Brentwood, MO and Co-founder of Treasure Aisles Antique Mall in Maplewood, MO.
He was a member of the Eldon Noble Eagles Motorcycle Association and loved to ride his motorcycles, go camping, ride four wheelers and spend time with his wife and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with a Service beginning at 3:00 PM with Full Military Honors to follow. Per his wishes, his body has been cremated and Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.
Memorials in his name are suggested In Care of the Family.
