Wanda Louetta (Tannehill) Sidebottom

May 19, 2026, Wanda Louetta Sidebottom departed this life while sleeping in her home in Lake Ozark, MO.  Wanda was born in a log cabin (that still stands today) in Kaiser, MO to Floyd and May Tannehill on September 23, 1943.  The youngest of eight children, Wanda grew up in Kaiser and Lake of the Ozarks and went to high school at School of the Osage.  In her teens, Wanda met the love of her life, Harley D. Sidebottom and they were married in February of 1961 and they went on to have two children together, Harley Jr. and Vickie.

In pursuit of greater opportunity, Harley and Wanda decided to become an Air Force family, which brought them all across the United States, and even to Okinawa and Alaska. Wanda was happy to be a military wife and enjoyed the travels that accompanied what the military life held and was extremely patriotic.  Along with raising her children, Wanda had various interesting jobs, including working for Coty, TRW and Sears, and also trained as a beautician.

Most important in Wanda’s life were her family, and dearly loved her children and grand-children.  At her son’s darkest hour fighting for his life after a car accident, she was continually at his side, and during her husband’s failing health she fully devoted herself to his care.

After her husband passed in 2012, Wanda lived the simple life and loved to do puzzles, color, listen to opera and watch nature from her porch.  Wanda was light-hearted, independent and loved to laugh.  She will be missed.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, daughter Vickie Hardy, brothers Quentin, Dana and Lexi, sisters Mary Wallace, Beautes Clark, Ann Robinson and Shirley Jones.

Survivors include: 

Son, Harley D. Sidebottom, Jr. (Anita) of Chugiak, AK

Grandchildren, Alyssa Hardy, Roxanne Gregory (Germaine), Robin Pevestorf (Brandon) and Angelina Backus

Great-Grandchildren: Brooklyn Stoumbaugh and Rhonin Walther

Visitation will be Monday, June 1, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with a Graveside Service to follow at 11:30 AM at New Hope Cemetery of Kaiser, MO.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon MO.
