Wanda (Bontrager) Graham

Wanda M. Graham, 93, of Eugene, Missouri passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born February 19, 1927 the daughter of Clarence and Lillian (Bond) Bontrager.  Wanda graduated from Cole R-5 High School in 1945 and was united in marriage on February 2, 1947 to Bobby Graham who survives of the home.

Wanda worked alongside Bob and their three sons on the family farm raising chickens, turkeys, and registered Angus cattle.  She worked for several years at Reed’s Department Store in Eldon and retired from the State of Missouri’s Department of Revenue in 1991.

She helped Bob and the boys with their hobbies of showing foxtrotter horses and Angus cattle.  Her greatest joy in life was raising her three boys, and later enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s athletic and school activities.

A life based on family, faith and food, as her family and neighbors would testify to her butterscotch pie, spaghetti, steak and potatoes, and Thanksgiving dressing,  just to name a few, were the best around.

She was a member of Eugene Christian Church, and through the years, she was active in the community as a member of Spring Garden Community Club, Eugene 4-H, Eugene Saddle Club, and Miller County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include: 

Three sons: Terry Graham (Phyllis), Rick Graham (Sharon), and Randy Graham (Maida) all of Eugene.

Seven grandchildren: Tonya Kliethermes, Christopher Graham, Matt Graham, Bryan Graham, Travis Graham, Brett Graham and Bethany Schoon.

Fourteen great-grandchildren: Ashlynn, Ryleigh, Grady, Reagan, Brody, Ayla, Liam, Jase, Alyse, Kellen, Koy, Aubrey, Gentry and Cort.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Oliver; one sister, Dixie Binkley; and one brother, Gaylord Bontrager.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM at the Eugene Christian Church Fellowship Hall with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 AM with Rev. Alan McNeely officiating.  Burial will follow at Spring Garden Cemetery, Eugene, MO.

The family is especially grateful for the love and care provided to Wanda over the past few years, especially her in-home caregivers and Hospice Compassus.

The family is requesting, though not requiring those attending to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
