Virginia “Ginger” Atwell of Barnett, Missouri passed away at home on Friday, October 3, 2025. Ginger was born on December 15, 1942 in Aniston, Alabama to the late Ralph Todd and Mary (Boyd) Todd of Alabama. Ginger was united in marriage to Carl “Red” Atwell who passed in 2012.
Ginger and Red were self employed owning Red’s Antique Mall and used furniture store. Ginger loved singing and doing karaoke with her many friends.
Ginger is survived by her three children: Tammy Moore (Mark) of Barnett, MO; David Booker (Lydia) of Los Angeles, CA; Cathy Houtz (David) of Dexter, MO.
Ginger has six grandchildren: Ashley, Saundra, Brian, Heather, Cody, and Casey
Ginger has five adopted grandchildren: Madison, Nevaeh, Mariah, Kyra, Eli Houtz
Ginger has four great-grandchildren: Riley, Reece, Indie and Josie
Ginger’s very special friend, Bob Brown
Ginger is preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings, Dewight, Johnny, Butch and Jeannie.
Per her wishes, her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
