Thomas "Thom" LeRoy Snodgrass

Thomas “Thom” LeRoy Snodgrass, a resident and beloved pillar of the Tuscumbia, Missouri community, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 10, 2026. Born to the late Circuit Judge Charles LeRoy Snodgrass and Frances Laurice (Thompson) Snodgrass, Thom carried forward a rich family legacy of devotion to Tuscumbia and Miller County.

Thom was a graduate of the Tuscumbia High School Class of 1975. Following high school, Thom pursued higher education at Kansas State University, achieving an astonishing academic record. He graduated from the College of Architecture, Planning & Design with a Master of Architecture degree, while simultaneously completing a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Business.

Thom’s professional achievements were nothing short of brilliant. In 1986, he began his career with the Gensler corporation in Dallas, Texas. In 1988, he relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii, spending eight pivotal years with the renowned architecture firm Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo (WATG), before moving to Chicago, Illinois, to serve Hyatt International Corporation.

Across all three prestigious firms, Thom was universally recognized as an elite specialist in large-scale hotel hospitality operations, design, and building. His professional capacity was unmatched; at WATG and Hyatt International, he incredibly managed massive, complex projects on three separate continents—spanning Taiwan, Greece, and Egypt—simultaneously, while still selflessly assisting his colleagues with their own designs.

Thom was revered for his generosity and deeply loved in every firm he served. Most notably at WATG, he established profound, lifelong bonds with his coworkers and their families, creating a global family network that remains closely connected to this very day.

A man of faith and quiet dedication, Thom was a deeply cherished member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church. Thom poured his heart, his artistic vision, and his tireless labor into the care and keeping of the church he loved so dearly. Thom took immense pride in organizing, staging, and meticulously decorating the sanctuary for Christmas, Easter, and special community gatherings. An avid gardener and landscaper, his gentle touch was visible in the vibrant flowers and pristine grounds framing both the church and the local cemetery. Through his vision, he created places of peace and reflection for the entire community, ensuring both the church and cemetery stood as a beautiful, welcoming sanctuary for all.

Thom’s greatest joy was his family, he was a proud and loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, who will forever remember his kindness, his generous spirit, and his servant’s heart. He is survived by his two brothers and their families:

1.  Michael Snodgrass and his wife, Susan Snodgrass, of Olathe, Kansas. They are the parents of three sons, Nicholas Snodgrass and his wife, Anna Snodgrass, their daughters June, Piper, Avery, and Ellis Snodgrass, and sons Andrew Snodgrass and Stephen Snodgrass.

2.  Kenneth Charles Snodgrass and his wife, Anne Colquitt Snodgrass, who reside in Knoxville, Tennessee, and maintain a home in Kansas City, Missouri. Ken’s children; Thom’s nieces and nephews are Kati Annette Calvert (Ethan) and their daughters Riley and Penny Calvert. Samantha Lee Fox (Ryker) and their sons Kamden and Keaton. Kristofer Charles Snodgrass and his wife Samantha.

Thom also leaves behind a close-knit community of cousins, church family, neighbors, and lifelong friends in the Tuscumbia area who will miss his presence dearly.

Services:

The Celebration of Thom’s life and faith will be held at the Tuscumbia Christian Church, 432 High Street, Tuscumbia, MO 65082, on June 27th, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. CDT which will be followed by a tree planting ceremony on the church grounds that Thom took continuous and meticulous care of. The family and friends will lay Thom to rest in the Tuscumbia Cemetery, among the beautiful landscapes he tended to, so lovingly.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Thom Snodgrass Memorial Fund, which will benefit the Tuscumbia Christian Church Building and Tuscumbia Cemetery.
