Thelma Evelyn (Ranum) Currence, 99, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at her residence in Eldon, Missouri. She was born May 20, 1922 in Barnett, Missouri the daughter of the late Peter and Myrtie (McKay) Ranum. On August 16, 1939 in Eldon, Missouri she was united in marriage to James “Estel” Currence who preceded her in death on June 27, 1996.

Daughter, Karen Wacker of Eldon, MO
Grandchildren, Robert Sparks, Jr. (Helen) of Eldon, MO; Patricia Sparks (Fiance’ Charles Green) of Knob Noster, MO
Five Great Grandchildren, Blake, Olivia, Gabriel, Zebulon & Shaine
A son in law, Ray Wacker, and four brothers, Rupert, Vivian, Bert & Raleigh preceded her in death.
Early in her life, Thelma became a member of Green Ridge Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and taught Bible school for many years. She later became a member of the First Christian Church and the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO. She was also a member of the Manning Quilting Club. She and her husband were very active in the Miller County Historical Society and participated in giving blood to the Red Cross. She was a proud member of the Gallon Club. She greatly enjoyed time spent reading but her greatest love was being with her family.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor James Schupp officiating. Burial will follow at the Green Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials in her name are suggested to Green Ridge Cemetery.
