Sue Vernon Obituary

Sue Vernon, 77, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.  She was born May 13, 1943 in Etterville, Missouri the daughter of the late Walter and Zylpha (Coffman) Spencer.  On November 26, 1959 in Etterville, Missouri she was united in marriage to Carl David “CD” Vernon who preceded her in death on March 19, 2017.

 

Survivors include,

 

Daughter, Tami Walker (Mike) of The Villages, FL

 

Sons, Randy Vernon (Michele) of Eldon, MO; Eric Vernon (Melissa) of Jefferson City, MO

 

Brothers, Gary Spencer (June) of Jefferson City, MO; Olney Spencer (Shirley) of VA

 

Grandchildren, Steven Evers (Sahar) & Brett Evers, Erin Vernon, Becca & Maggie Vernon

 

Great Granddaughter, Layla Evers, Several Nieces & Nephews

 

Sue loved spending time with her family preparing meals and going camping.  She cherished time with her grandchildren.  She was an expert at putting puzzles together and growing flowers in her yard.  Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO.  She was owner/operator of Sue’s Grocery for many years.  She had a great love for Elvis, including numerous trips to Graceland.

 

Services will be private for the family and she will be laid to rest next to “CD” at the Eldon City Cemetery on Monday, January 11, 2021.

 

Memorials in her name are suggested to the Eldon R-1 School District for the benefit of student needs.

 

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
