Stephen L. Wood

Stephen L. Wood, 78, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at his residence in Eldon, Missouri.  He was born July 26, 1946 in Rocky Mount, Missouri the son of the late Dorsey Henry and Loyce Audry (Runyan) Wood.  On March 27, 1965 in Eldon, Missouri he was united in marriage to Sharon (Leuthen) Wood who survives of the home.

Daughters, Daphney Partridge of Columbia, MO; Darreca Mays of Eldon, MO

Son Darrell Wood of Eldon, MO

Five Grandsons, Charles Mays, Dylan, Gavin, Hayden & Bryant Wood all of Eldon, MO

Five Granddaughters, Chelsey Wood of Jefferson City, MO; Aspen Wood of Versailles, MO; Katie Russell (Grant) of Alton, IL; Vivian & Madelene Partridge of St. Louis, MO

One Great-Grandson, Gregory Dale Wood of Jefferson City, MO and another due in November, Bryce Alan Russell

Brother, Ancel “Boss” Wood of Mishawaka, IN

Three sisters, Marcella Pletzer, Ruth Baackes & Rosa Apperson, and three brothers, Jewel “Buck”, Joe & Dwain Wood preceded him in death.

Stephen was employed with Union Pacific Railroad for thirty-nine years before retiring.

Graveside Services will be Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett, MO with Deacon Chet Zuck officiating.

Memorials in his name are suggested to Hospice Compassus.
