Rose Marie (Peterson) McKinley

Rose Marie McKinley, age 90, of Barnett, MO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Eldon Nursing Home & Rehab Center.

Rose was born August 4, 1932, in Cole County, MO., the daughter of Walter Lloyd and Rosa Lee (Barger) Peterson (Maddox). She was married on February 21st, 1961, in Sedalia, MO, to the love of her life, Charles (Calvert) McKinley, who preceded her in death on October 6, 2009.

Rose spent most of her life as a resident of Morgan, County. She graduated from Jefferson City High School. She worked several years for Busch’s Florist and Greenhouse in Jefferson City, MO. She spent years babysitting in her home, and her granddaughter’s daycare. Her and Calvert owned and operated turkey barns.

Rose was a charter member of the Barnett Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

She was an amazing, loving, woman who was constantly busy working on her home of over sixty years, painting, laying floors, and taking care of her yard. She loved getting her family and friends together and cooking meals on holidays and Sunday’s.  Her and Calvert enjoyed many trips to Branson or with family for vacations. She loved taking care of her four-legged doggies, Oscar, Tanner, Henry, Penny, and Zoey, and two cats, Precious and Peaches.

Survivors include: her son, Larry Joe Boulware, Sr. (Donna) of Montgomery City, MO; her daughter,  Jeanne Marie Thomas (Troy) of Barnett, MO; her grandkids, Tracie Green (Timothy), Larry Joe Boulware, ll. (Melissa), Misty Stoufer (Lee), Dana Boulware-Schroeder (Tim), Tabitha Webery (Matt), Cole Thomas (Holly), Lexie Vaughan (Craig), LaDara Boulware (Nate), Chaston Farris (Shyannea), Tiffany Blain-Salerno (Erik), and Landon McKinley. Great grandkids, who she treasured, Josh Martin, Mason Taft, Miley Rose Boulware, Trenton, Camden, Hudson, Emersyn, Fallon Schroeder, Kenzie and Callie Webery, Colter Bond, Camri Asbury, Jadyn and Baylon Vaughan,  Staley and Bennett Boulware, Charlotte and McKinley Salerno, and Kingston McKinley. Many nieces and nephews here and gone before her, that were precious in her eyes.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Calvert of 48 years, her son, Gary Wayne Boulware, her daughters, Linda Lou Dinwiddie of Barnett, MO, and Lisa Kathleen Blain of Eldon, MO; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda Burd (Allen “Smoky” Burd) of Jefferson City, MO, Virginia Waller (Ira Hebert Waller) of Jefferson City, MO, and Patricia Daro (Clifford Wayne “Pete”Daro) of Fulton, MO.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Nineth Street Christian Church in Eldon MO.
