Patricia "Pat" Tucker Obituary

Patricia “Pat” (Wright) Tucker, 80, of Eldon, MO passed into the loving hands of the Lord November 27, 2020 at the Lee House in Eldon .  Patricia was born July 11, 1940, at Eugene, MO, the daughter of Garcia “Garsy” and Ruby (Allee) Wright  and was a lifelong resident of Miller County.  She was married October 17, 1958 at Iberia, MO, to Charles Paul Tucker by minister William Freeman Jones.  Paul and Patricia enjoyed more than fifty four years of marriage before Paul’s death in 2013.

 

Patricia was a 1958 graduate of Eugene Cole R-V High School and counted  many friends among her classmates,  acted in class plays, performed in school talent reviews and was an active member of the high school chorus.   Patricia loved to write and draw and was the author and illustrator of several published children’s books, including  “Blue Boy,”  “Eugene Elephant’s Tall Peanuts,” and  “The Princess Who Couldn’t Laugh.”  Patricia authored numerous poems and songs, one of which, “Only God Can Hang The Moon” is currently being demo’d for possible recording.  She loved to sing and when 17 years of age lent her clear soprano acapella voice to several popular songs of the ‘50s which are preserved at the James Earl Thompson Audio-Visual Center at the Miller County Museum. 

 

Patricia Tucker enjoyed family gatherings, including  numerous camping expeditions to Missouri’s state parks and scenic rivers, tending her flower gardens and pets, and in her later years,  loved attending church with her dear friends Zinnia & Dodi,  consuming her favorite flavored milk shakes and drinking black cherry soda.

 

Patricia was baptized into the Church of Christ at an early age and was a member of the Saline Valley Church of Christ. 

 

Patricia Tucker is survived by five sons, Tim (Cindy) of Lenexa Kansas. Monte (Toni) of Yukon, OK. Kim (Kelley) of Owasso, OK, Bradley (Amanda) of Edmond,Ok  John, of Eldon, MO,  and one daughter, Jeanette (Ray) Myers of Statesville, NC; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Bernie (Donna), of Kirkwood, MO,  Merlin, of Eldon, MO, and Alan (Mary) of Pawleys Island, SC.  Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul, and brother, Glenn (Rose), of McIntosh, FL

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM with Brother Travis Hardesty officiating.  Burial will follow at Tuscumbia Cemetery in Tuscumbia, MO.

Due to current CDC guidelines, those attending services for Patricia are asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing requirements.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
