Pamela "Pam" Lindsey Obituary

Pamela “Pam” Sue (Darr) Lindsey, 71, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 and was born February 19, 1949 in Plainview Nebraska to Howard and Mildred (Hobson) Darr. She spent her childhood in Nebraska and California. She was united in marriage to Gary Lindsey on May 10, 1969.  They lived their first years of marriage in Illinois and later moved to Missouri where they raised their family.

 

Pam had a variety of jobs including homemaker, onion factory, jeans factory, school cook, and lastly working at Eldon Drugstore before retiring in 2016.  She loved to crochet, garden, and feeding her beloved birds, especially the hummingbirds.  She loved to spend time with her family.

 

She is survived by her four daughters: Jan (Jerald) Mabary of Urbana, MO, Cheryl Grey of Gladstone, MO, Kim (Bill) Berry of Tunas MO, and Carrie (Aaron) Hendren of New London, MO. Nine grandchildren: Tyler, Braten, Bricker, Brianna, Nicolette, Jordan, Kale, Benjamin, and Evelyn.  Four great grandchildren: Makinley, Daxton, Newton, Austyn, and baby James, due in July.  Three brothers: Dennis (Bonnie) Darr of Flagstaff, AZ, Mike (Brad) Darr of Vashon, WA, Warren (Lorie) Darr of Bellevue NE and many more family and friends.

 

Pam was preceded in death by her husband Gary Lindsey, her parents Howard and Mildred Darr, and her in laws Harold and Faye Lindsey.

 

Services will be held privately for family and friends only on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.  An additional service for the public will be planned at a later date.     

Our family would like to say a special thank you to Monroe City Manor Care Center and Community Loving Care Hospice for their exceptional care of mom and our family at the end of her life.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Promise Foundation, 901 Hugh Wallis Road South, Lafayette LA, 70508 or Monroe City Manor Care Center, 1010 US-36 Business and US Hwy 36, Monroe City, MO 63456

Due to current CDC recommendations, funerals are classified as a public gathering and are here by now limited to 49 people or less. We are committed to keeping our patrons safe and hope that this situation will be resolved quickly. Thank you for your understanding.
