Michael "Uncle Catfish" C. Cotten

Michael C. Cotten, 52 of Eldon, Missouri and affectionately known as “Uncle Catfish” passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.  He was born June 20, 1972 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the son of James Everett Cotten, Sr. and Ina (Burris) Cotten.

Nieces & Nephews, Dallas, Emily, Trish, Galeya, Gina, Kirstina, Elizabeth, Ethan, Chelsea, Caleb, Grace, Lydia, Lindsay, Emma, Mark, Daniel, Victoria, Laura, Nathanael, Kendra, Madalyn, Jacob, Annabeth, and Sabrina

Numerous Great Nieces and Great Nephews, one Great-Great-Nephew

Along with his father, a brother, John Henry Cotten, and a great niece, Lily Rose Dial preceded him in death.

Michael was employed with the City of Eldon, then worked for Merten Oil Company, the Eldon Post Office, and his current employment was for Wallis Oil Company.  He was a member of the Flatwoods Baptist Church.  He was a huge sports fan, especially rooting for the Cardinals, Raiders and Lakers.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM with Pastor Earl Wood officiating.  Burial will follow at Tolwood Cemetery.

Memorials in his name are suggested In Care of the Family.
