Michael Harrison Obituary

Michael Daryl Harrison "Mike", age 47 years, of Henley, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2012, at his home after a brave fight with lung cancer. Mike was born October 31, 1964, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Paul and Violene Rose Harrison. He was raised by his mother and dad, Charles Roark, in Henley, Mo. Mike was married on April 16, 2005, in Henley, to Carol J. Evers. He attended Cole R-V, in Eugene, Mo. Mike thoroughly enjoyed his 21 years of employment with L.G. Berry Construction as a carpenter. He took pride in his work and enjoyed doing finish work. Mike was always energetic and never wasted a second of the day. He loved being outdoors doing anything from deer hunting, mushroom hunting, picking blackberries, fishing, gardening and sitting on the front porch drinking a beer. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his beloved wife, dogs, cat, family and friends. Survivors include: his wife, Carol Harrison, of the home and her children, Charlie Evers of Kansas City, Mo, and Krystal Harte, of Affton, Mo. Mike dearly loved children and cherished the time he had with his grandson, Gage Evers. Survivors also include his sister, Sandy Hicks, her husband John, of Henley, two brothers, Nelson "Bud" Harrison, David Harrison, niece, Sarah Hicks, nephew, Andy Hicks, plus numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Harrison, mother, Rose Harrison, dad, Charlie Roark, and two brothers, Rodney "Ronnie" Harrison, and Steven Harrison. Visitation will be at Spring Valley Baptist Church from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Spring Garden Cemetery with the Reverend Sonny Meyer officiating.
