Mary Faye Cooper, 86, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at SSM St. Mary’s Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born July 5, 1938 in Miller County, Missouri the daughter of the late Rev. William Earl Wood and Mary Lurel (Burris) Wood. On August 31, 1955 in Morgan County, Missouri she was united in marriage to Robert J. Cooper who preceded her in death on July 1, 2003.
Survivors include,
Sisters, Wanda L. Vernon of Eldon, MO; Fern Marcantonio of Jefferson City, MO
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by thirteen siblings.
Mary was a secretary and treasurer for the Union Missionary Baptist Church for thirty plus years. She graduated from Tuscumbia High School and Myrtle’s Beauty School where she became a licensed beautician. She and her sister-in-law, Frances Williams owned and operated a beauty shop in Versailles, MO for twenty plus years. Mary later was employed with FASCO Industries for sixteen years until retiring.
Visitation will be Monday, May 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Brother John W. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Tol Wood Cemetery in Eldon, MO.
Memorials in her name are suggested to the Union Missionary Baptist Church.
