Marilyn F. Covington, 79, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at her home in Eldon, Missouri. She was born May 2, 1946 the daughter of the late Rufus Nichols and Nadine (Bailey) Holliday. On February 6, 2013 in Eldon, Missouri she was united in marriage to James Covington who preceded her in death on July 23, 2013.
Survivors include,
Daughter, Christine Brake (Bryan)
Step-Daughter, Debbie Pittman (Mike)
Step-Son, Doug Wright (Leonor)
Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Brothers, Robert Nichols (Dorothy); Jim Holliday (Cara)
Marilyn was an active member of the Eldon Church of the Nazarene, she loved music, dancing, singing, working puzzles and playing bingo. She was employed for many years with FASCO Industries and Quality Industries. Over the years she loved being involved with the Red Hat Ladies and was an active volunteer with the Eldon Chamber of Commerce. Marilyn knew everyone and never met a stranger. Her kindness and friendship will be remembered by many.
Along with her parents and her husband, a sister, Kathie Withers preceded her in death, and a grandson, Dylan Brake who passed in 1993.
Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2026 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Eldon Church of the Nazarene with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jerry W. Frye officiating. Private Family Interment will be held at the Tuscumbia Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials in her name are suggested to the Eldon Church of the Nazarene.
