Maria C. (Suykerbuyk) McCarty

Maria C. McCarty, 81 of Rocky Mount, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.  She was born March 1, 1943 in Holland, Europe the daughter of the late Andre and Margaret (Haarmans) Suykerbuyk.  On February 3, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri she was united in marriage to Dan McCarty who preceded her in death on March 15, 2021.

Survivors include,

Children, Annette Gunter (Ron) of St. Louis, MO; Theresa Lesinski (Bill) of Bloomsdale, MO; Frank McCarty (Tracy) of O’Fallon, MO

Eleven Grandchildren and Eight Great-Grandchildren

Siblings, Jacoba Raper (Jack) of New Baltimore, MI; Terry Bault (Jim) of CA; Anna Chlebowski (Mike) of Grand Rapids, OH; Margaret Koenegstein of Chicago, IL

Several Nieces and Nephews

Along with her parents and her husband, one grandson, Michael Gunter, one son-in-law, Wendell Kinnaird, and two brothers, Andreas Suykerbuyk and Theodore Suykerbuyk.

Maria was a member of the AMVETS Post #108 of Rocky Mount, MO.  She loved living at the lake and the lake view but her greatest love was being surrounded by family and friends.  She loved to help countless others in their time of need.  She was the life of the party.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the AMVETS Post #108 in Rocky Mount, MO beginning at 12:00 PM with an Open Bar provided. 

Per her wishes, her body has been cremated and will be laid to rest next to her husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials in her name are suggested to AMVETS Post #108 of Rocky Mount, MO.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
