Lucille (Kempker) Limbach

January 6, 1927 ~ January 30, 2020 (age 93)


Lucille Limbach of Mary’s Home, Missouri passed away at the age of 93 on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Lake Parke Senior Living in Camdenton, Missouri.  She was born on January 6, 1927 in Henley, Missouri to the late Frank Kempker, Sr. and Celestia (Looten) Kempker.  On June 16, 1956 in Mary’s Home, Missouri she was united in marriage to Max Joseph Limbach who preceded her in death on March 25, 1976. To this union in marriage, three children were born.

Survivors include,

Daughter Lucinda Varner and husband Mike of Camdenton, MO

Sons Danny Limbach and wife Lisa of Iberia, MO; Dennis Limbach and wife Twyla of Mary’s Home, MO

Grandchildren Morgan Basler and husband Corry, Allison Varner, Josh Burns, Cody and Mackenzie Limbach, Joseph, Reagan and Thomas Limbach

In addition, a sister, Viola Lepper Ihler of Brazito, MO survives.  She is also survived by sister in laws, Marcella Kempker, Betty Morff (and husband Ronnie), Patsy Ewers and Evonda Limbach as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

A brother, Frank Kempker, Jr. preceded her in death.

Lucille was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Mary’s Home, MO from childhood to adulthood.  She served on multiple parish committees throughout her membership years.

She was Mary’s Home Senior Dinner President and the recipient of the Who’s Who Award for notable contributions to her community.  She was also Chairman of the Miller County O.A.T.S Transportation. 

Lucille began teaching in a one room schoolhouse in 1946.  She taught for 2 years at the Kempker School before taking a job at the Sanning School.  After four years, this school consolidated with Cole R-V.  Lucille was an educator for forty seven and a half years before retiring due to decreased vision.  During this time, she was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma, an organization for women educators.

Upon her retirement in 1994, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She volunteered for the Miller County OATS Senior Transportation and community events.  She continued to take care of others until her death. 

Visitation will be Monday, February 3, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home with a Rosary prayed at 3:30 PM and a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM.Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 10:00 AM also at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.  Her body will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery immediately following the Mass.

Memorials are suggested to the Lucille Limbach Scholarship Fund.
