Louise (Wood) Farris

Louise (Wood) Farris, 85, of Olean, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at SSM St. Mary’s Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.  She was born May 14, 1936 the daughter of the late Lyman Wood and Ida (Burris) Wood York.  On January 22, 1961 at Friendship Baptist Church in California, Missouri she was united in marriage to Earl Farris who preceded her in death on December 13, 2007. 

Survivors include,

Sons, Doug Farris (Sara) of Eugene, MO; Duane Farris of Olean, MO

Daughter, Diane Scurlock (Willy) of Eugene, MO

Three Grandchildren, John Scurlock (Mindy) of Eldon, MO; Rebecca Scurlock of Eugene, MO; Dalton Farris of Eugene, MO

One Great Grandchild, Bentley Scurlock of Eldon, MO

Brother, Charles Wood of Eldon, MO

Along with her parents and husband, four sisters, Ina Gower, Erma Burris, Billie Jean Buschmann, Nancy Downing, and two brothers, Hershel Wood and Louis Wood preceded her in death.

Louise was a member of Spring Garden Baptist Church of Olean, MO.  She was employed at Mattingly’s in Eldon, MO where she managed the upstairs toy department during Christmas.  She then worked at Ben Franklin in Eldon until it closed and at FASCO Industries until her retirement.  Louise enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchild.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Martin and Rev. Bob Cavanaugh officiating.  Burial will follow at Spring Garden Cemetery.

Memorials in her name are suggested to Spring Garden Baptist Church or Spring Garden Cemetery.
