Lorene (Bond) Farris

Lorene (Bond) Farris peacefully passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Miller County Care and Rehab in Tuscumbia, Missouri.  Lorene was born as a triplet at Oby and Nora Bond’s home near Mt. Herman on March 15, 1937.  One of the triplets (Ladine) did not survive infancy, so Lorene grew up alongside her twin sister, Pauline (Bond) Currence.  Lorene attended school in Olean and graduated from Eldon High School in 1955. 

Lorene was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She worked many long hours as a hairdresser, often times inviting neighbors and friends into her home for a haircut or style.  Lorene was a good neighbor in Olean and later in Eldon.  Lorene enjoyed tending to her garden and visiting with her sisters and friends.  Her greatest joy was to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  A faithful member of the Olean Baptist Church, she served the Lord throughout her years and loved her church family. 

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, Oby and Nora (Selix) Bond; as well as her brother Marvin Bond; sisters, Helen Wright, Eula Mae Bedwell, Pauline Currence, Nancy Bond, and Ladine Bond; and son-in-law, John Kramp.

Lorene is survived by her children; Robin (Mark) Barry of Russellville, MO; David (Amy) Farris of Barnett, and Donna Farris of Russellville, MO; she was also proud of and survived by ten grandchildren, Heather (Mykel) Abbott; Travis (Laura) Barry; Adrianne Barry; Lee (Tony) Zamarripa; Britanie (Craig) Ryan; Kirsten Imler; Kelsie (Cliffton) O’Neal; Dalton (Summer) Farris; Joshua (Taylor) Farris and Ashlie (Tyler) Flaugher; nineteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jim Misloski and Brother Bob Hoskins officiating.  Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Olean Baptist Church 42709 South Creek Rd Russellville, MO 65074 or to the Allen Cemetery 5930 Prairie Hill Rd. Russellville, MO 65074.
