Leonard G. Kempker, 94, of Eugene, Missouri passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, September 5, 2022 at his residence. He was born August 12, 1928 in Henley, Missouri, the son of the late John H. and Regina (Leven) Kempker. On May 5, 1951 in St. Elizabeth, Missouri he was united in marriage to Rosemary J. (Brenneke) Kempker who preceded him in death on January 28, 2017.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Kempker, two great grandchildren, Connor Groose & Grace DeGraffenreid, a sister and her husband, Alvina & Herman Lueckenhoff, a son-in-law, William “Bill” Abbott, two sisters-in-laws and their husbands, Catherine & Norbert Rehagen, and Delores & Bernard Schillers, brother-in-law and wife, Herman and Dorothy Brenneke, and brothers-in-law, Bill Barton and Joe Lackman, sister-in-law, Margie Brenneke.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Mary’s Home, MO, also a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a lifelong farmer and he was a family man who truly enjoyed each and every meal, visit and conversation with his family and friends.
His passing came on the Feast Day of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She was known for many examples of faith, love and sacrifice. “If you want to change the world go home and love your family.” He did that his whole life.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Center in Mary’s Home, MO with a Prayer Service prayed at 4:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home, MO with Rev. Alexius Ekka officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery. Memorials in his name are suggested to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.
