Larry Gene Rusk

Larry Gene Rusk, 74, of Harrisonville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at his residence in Harrisonville, Missouri.  He was born July 11, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of the late William Gene and Bonnie (Hawes) Rusk. 

Survivors include,

Wife, Gloria (Knaus) Rusk of Stotts City, MO

Children, Penny L. Young (Mike) of Raymore, MO; Michelle R. Wilson of Raymore, MO; William P. Rusk (Amy) of Harrisonville, MO; Catherine O’Shia of Peculiar, MO

Twelve Grandchildren & Twenty-two Great Grandchildren

Two Sisters, Susie Fuqua (Freddie) of Gravois Mills, MO; Lois Ann Rusk of Welda, KS

Formerly married to Norma Pendergrass

A wife, Paula Irene (Smith) Rusk, a daughter, Maureen A. O’Shia, a son, Michael G. Rusk, a brother, William “Butch” Rusk, and a nephew, Jack Fuqua preceded him in death.

Larry was employed with the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement.  He was a volunteer fireman for the Gravois Mills Fire Department, and was a Reserve Officer for the Edwardville Police Department and the Overland Park Police Department.  He was a long time member of the Shriners in Versailles, MO.  Larry enjoyed drawing, painting and fishing.

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice of Harrisonville for the care that you all gave.  Words cannot express our gratitude to you all. 

Visitation will be Monday, May 16, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Chaplain Brian Klein officiating.  Interment will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery.

Memorials in his name are suggested In Care of the Family.
