Larry Dale Ballew, 86, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born August 31, 1938 into a loving family of seven sisters and two brothers in Columbia, Missouri the son of the late Harry and Alice (Elliott) Ballew. On February 8, 1959 in Columbia, Missouri he was united in marriage to Mary L. (Hyde) Ballew who survives of the home.

Siblings, Karen Spears of Joplin, MO; Max W. Ballew of Olympia, WA
He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with a large extended family of nieces and nephews that he always made time for. They all loved their Uncle Larry and he loved them.
Along with his parents, a daughter, Lisa Kaye Rains passed in 2021 from lung cancer, a son Jeffrey D. Ballew was killed in a car accident, and six sisters and one brother preceded him.
Larry was a 1956 graduate of Hickman High School. He was employed in construction and was a member of the Teamsters Local #833 in Jefferson City, MO where he was Principal Officer for seventeen years. Larry was loved by and respected by many friends and people he worked with. He enjoyed hunting and fishing until his health no longer allowed him.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Charlie Kempf officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery near Eldon, MO. with Full Military Honors presented.
Memorials in his name are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
