Keith Charles Browning Sr., affectionately known as "Pops," passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 72 in Osage Beach, Missouri. Born on April 6, 1952 in the state of Ohio, Pops lived a life marked by his family, friendships and a passion for the outdoors, and a distinguished brief service in the Army from 1967 to 1968.
Pops dedicated many years to the construction industry, specializing in framing and concrete, which was not just his career but also a craft he perfected over the decades. His work ethic was unparalleled, and the structures he built stand as a testament to his skill and dedication.
Beyond his professional life, Pops was an avid outdoorsman. He relished hunting and fishing, often accompanied by his son and grandson, passing on his skills and love for the outdoors to the next generations. His interests weren't limited to fishing and hunting; he was also keen on arrowhead hunting and riding motorcycles, and anything that kept him connected to nature and adventure and he was always up for a good time.
He is survived by his son, Keith and his “Bestie”, Betsey Browning, of Eldon, MO. Son, Brian Browning of Virginia; daughter, Sherry Marsh of Florida; grandchildren, Renee, Kristy, TJ, Kaylee, Nick, and Keith; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Harlynn, Courtney, Sam, and McKenzie. He also leaves behind his siblings, Robert Dean Browning and a sister, Barbara Browning, both of Ohio and a long time close friend, Todd Box of Brumley.
Pops was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice Browning, and a grandson, Casey Shoemate.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Pops' life and legacy. Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon, MO, is assisting the family during this time. Pops life was one of impact and kindness, marked by many moments spent with friends, helping others, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
