Jonathan Matthew Scott “Jon” of Olean, Missouri went to be with Jesus Christ his Savior on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the University of Missouri Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 4, 1968 in Jefferson City, Missouri the son of the late Benjamin and Clara (Farris) Scott. He graduated from Eugene High School in 1988. He completed mechanical School through Tri-County Technical School in Eldon, Missouri.
Jon was blessed with two daughters, Lindsey Tamburini (Miguel) of Spokane, Washington and Grace Danner (Zach) of Windsor, Missouri.
He is also survived by three siblings, Patrick Scott (Judy) and Andy Scott of Jefferson City, Missouri. Nancy (Scott) Bond of Eugene, Missouri. One Sister-in-law, Tina Scott of Holt Summit, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jon was employed as a mechanic at several garages over the years. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Lake Ozark Construction and with Bagnell Special Road District. He also was employed as a Fiber Optics Technician responsible for installing and maintaining fiber optic networks.
Jon had a vibrant sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh with his stories and jokes. He could talk to a stranger and leave as a friend to many. Being the owner of Moon Runners Bar and Grill in Eugene, Missouri, you could find him running the tunes for karaoke.
Jon had a big heart to help many people but one of his greatest joys was being a grandpa to Weston, Aryia and Kinser Danner and Penelope Tamburini.
Jon was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jimmie Jenkins, his siblings, Carolyn Bunger, Benjamin Scott, Jr., David Scott, Sr., Gary Gene Scott, and Jimmy Lee Scott, two brothers-in-law, Wayne Bunger, and David Bond, Sr., and a nephew, David Scott II.
Jon devoted his life to Jesus Christ as a young boy and continued that walk with the Lord throughout his life.
Family will honor Jon with Funeral Services on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Visitation beginning at 12:00 PM – 2:00 Pm at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Missouri with Jonathan Presley officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Garden Cemetery.
Memorials in his name are suggested In Care of the Family.
