John Frederick Allen, Jr.

John Frederick Allen, Jr. age 82 of Sunrise Beach, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 of natural causes.

John was born December 15, 1940 to John and Rose Allen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  After John graduated from Bartrum High School 1960, he went on to study Power Plant Design at Williamson College of the Trades in Media, PA.

After graduating, he started his first job at Gulf States Utilities followed by Olin Chemical Corporation as Power Plant Operator and then ended his career as a construction engineer in Dallas. 

In 1960, John met Carolyn Ann Collette Cormier in Lake Charles, LA.  John and Carolyn went on to have three children,  Desmond Van Allen, Barry Morris Allen and John “Beau” Frederick Allen, III and grandchildren,  Reagan Sophia Allen and Taylor Rose Rison and husband Collin Rison.

In 2007, John retired and spent time with family and friends.  John was an avid reader; was always active in his church, he had a passion for teaching and served as a missionary in Ireland and surrounded himself with fun-loving people and had a passion for life.

John was proceeded in death by Daniel Develin Allen and Faith “Dutch” Cremer Allen. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at Victory Church in Osage Beach, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Steve Foley officiating.

 Burial will follow at Hickory Point Cemetery in Iberia, MO.  Memorials in his name are suggested to the Victory Church Youth and Children’s Ministries.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
