Jerry E. Hawken, 77, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 in Florida. He was born February 25, 1944 in Tuscumbia, Missouri to the late Jesse H. and Mary Lee (Johnston) Hawken. On November 14, 1964 in Eldon, Missouri he was united in marriage to Arlene (Currence) Hawken who survives.

Siblings, David Hawken (Cheryl) of Eldon, MO; Martha Tomson (Ronsol) of Tuscumbia, MO; John Hawken of Tuscumbia, MO; Carol Hasenbeck (Bob) of Jefferson City, MO
Brother-in-law, David Currence (Suzanne) of Osage Beach, MO
Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Maurine Currence.
Jerry was a 1962 graduate of Tuscumbia High School and later graduated from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, MO in 1972. He began his accounting career at Burstein-Applebee Electronics in Kansas City, MO. He and Arlene later purchased and ran a fish farm in Stover, MO to get out of the city and be closer to family. In 1976 he began his career with Missouri Farm Bureau, retiring as chief financial officer in 2001. He was an avid hunter and fisherman until he discovered golf, which became his passion. He cherished time spent with his family and enjoyed traveling around the country.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with a Celebration of Life beginning at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jim Misloski officiating.
Private family interment will follow at a later date.
Memorials in his name are suggested to Greenmore Memorial Gardens or the Eldon Food Pantry.
