James "Jim" O'Donnell Obituary

James “Jim” Michael O’Donnell passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at his residence in Russellville, Missouri.  He was born August 5, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Edmund Anthony and Florence (Markham) O’Donnell.  On February 17, 1990 in Lake Ozark, Missouri he was united in marriage to Donna Kay (Small) O’Donnell who survives of the home.

Grandchildren, Phillip Markham Delsignore (Rachel) of Norfolk, VA; Riley Farrell of Denver, CO; Robert Farrell (Brielle) of Thousand Oaks, CA

Great-Granddaughter, Gracie Louise Delsignore of Norfolk, VA

Nephews, David O’Donnell (Ida) of Jefferson City, MO; Peter O’Donnell (Carolyn) of Wooster, OH; Ed O’Donnell of Kansas City, MO; Ted O’Donnell (Terri) of Jefferson City, MO; George Whitelaw of St. Louis, MO; Mark Whitelaw of IL

Nieces, Laura Papener of St. Louis, MO; Leslie McBee of Adrian, MO; Ellen Engeman of New Rose, LA; Peggy Kounce of Kansas City, MO

Along with his parents, his siblings, Jack O’Donnell, Nancy Whitelaw and Ruth Schwarz, and two sons, Jeffrey O’Donnell and Michael O’Donnell preceded him in death.

Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eldon, MO.  He was employed with Falstaff in his younger years and then was a wine distributor in St. Louis and throughout Central Missouri and then owned and operated several Subway restaurants in the Lake Ozark and Eldon area.  Jim loved sailing, flying, and spending time on the farm with his dogs and cats. He loved people and staying busy, but his greatest love was spending time with his family.

Visitation will be Monday, December 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with the Funeral Mass beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Simon Kanyike officiating.  Burial is planned at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, MO at a later date.

Memorials in his name are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eldon, MO or Hospice Compassus.
