James Louis (Woody) Wood

James Louis (Woody) Wood, 93, formerly of Eldon, Missouri passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at his residence in Sedalia, Missouri.  He was born July 6, 1927 in Eldon, Missouri the son of the late Lyman and Myrtle (Heldstab) Wood.  On July 4, 1953 he was united in marriage to Fannie Opal (Vanhooser) Wood who preceded him in death on January 24, 2012.

Survivors include,

Brother, Charles Wood of Eldon, MO

Sister, Louise Farris Eugene, MO

Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends

Five siblings, Ina Gower, Erma Burris, Hershal Wood, Nancy Downing & Jim McGowan preceded him in death.

He was employed with TWA from December 4, 1952 to February 1, 1989.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Korea. He was a member of the Flatwood Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.

Funeral Service will be Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Wood officiating.  Burial will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery.

Memorials in his name are suggested to Flatwood Baptist Church.
