Jackie Rogers Obituary

Jackie Lee Rogers, 76, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born September 17, 1948, the

son of the late Gordon Eugene and Velma Elaine (Hollandsworth) Rogers. On February 6, 1970 in Eldon, Missouri he was united in marriage to Brenda Kay (Lewis) Rogers who preceded him in death on December 10, 2021.

 

Jack is survived by:

Two children, Deanna Powell (Mike Needham) of Springfield, MO; Brian Rogers (Laura) of Gilbert, AZ

Five grandchildren, Amber Josken (Jeff), Alora Powell (Derek Place), Addam Powell, Ian Rogers, and Mabel Rogers, plus one great-grandchild, Oscar Place.

Siblings, Hobert Rogers (Becky), Wanda Rogers, David Rogers (Diane), and Larry Rogers

Several nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Clarine Reser, and grandson, Spencer Rogers.

Jack spent many years on the road as a truck driver and had many stories to tell of his

adventures. He loved all types of vehicles, and loved entering his own award-winning classic cars into car shows. He owned Winner’s Circle Too Auto Shop in Eldon, MO, where you could find him trading tales with customers while they waited for their vehicles to be fixed, along with many friends that simply stopped by to chat for a while. He spent much of his retirement watching old westerns and endlessly drawing page after page of creative characters and colorful images.

A visitation honoring Jack will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 12-2 pm at Phillips.  Funeral Home in Eldon, MO, with the Funeral Service beginning at 2 pm. Burial will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery.

Memorials in his name are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
