Jack Phillip Martin

Jack Phillip Martin, 86, of Olean, Missouri passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at his residence in Olean, Missouri.  He was born July 1, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of the late Paul Jesse and Hazel Edrie (Wall) Martin.  On June 9, 1962 in Eldon, Missouri he was united in marriage to Peggy (Sears) Martin who survives of the home.

Daughter, Jadale Allen (Mike) of Lake Ozark, MO

Two Granddaughters, Destin & Lindsey Allen

Sister, Doris Wiggins (Jack) of Jefferson City, MO

A sister, Pauline Klug and one brother, Dave Martin preceded him in death.

Jack was a member of the Olean Christian Church of Olean, MO.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War serving from 1952 to 1956.  Jack began working at Martin Tile Company in 1956 until 1962; he was then employed with TWA in Las Vegas, NV until retiring in 1989 in Kansas City, MO.  After retirement and moving to the area, he worked on his farm located in Miller County.  Jack was a life time member of the VFW Post #2442 of Eldon, MO where he served as captain of the Honor Guard from 2012 to 2017.  Jack was chosen as a member of the Honor Flight going to Washington, DC in 2013. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with a Memorial Service beginning at 3:00 PM.  Full Military Honors will follow, presented by the Eldon VFW Post #2442.  Private Family Interment will be held at the Eldon City Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials in his name are suggested to the Eldon City Cemetery.
