Iva Mae Rush Obituary

Iva Mae Ottolene (Musick) Rush, 84, of Tuscumbia, Missouri passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 at her home in Tuscumbia, Missouri surrounded by her family. She was born September 7, 1940 in Etterville, Missouri. The daughter of the late Otto Musick and Anna Eula (Thomas) Dooley and Step-father Cleveland Dooley. On July 17, 1960 in Eldon, Missouri she was united in marriage to Gerald Edwin Rush who preceded her in death.

Survivors include:

Daughter, Denise Wilson (Steven) of Tuscumbia, MO along with their son, Benjamin Wilson (Emilee), and grandchildren, Nevaeh, Brayleigh, and Briarlynn.

Son, Dennis Rush of Ulman, MO and children with Sheila Rush: daughter, Shelby Franks (Ben), grandchildren Makenna and Kipp; son, Sawyer Rush (Amber), grandchildren Paisley, Knoxley, and Wayde; daughter Summer McDermott (Matt), grandchild Riley, daughter, Scout Rush (Peyton); and daughter, Sage Rush

Daughter, Dawn Rising (Billy) of Eldon, MO along with their daughters Emily Adams (Joseph), grandchild Asher Adams; Reagan Rising (Blake), and grandchild on the way, Baby Hees.

Sibling, Joyce Rowland

Brother-in-laws, Robert Jones, Joe Rowland, Kenneth Rush and Sammy Rush

Sister-in-laws, Rosetta Rush and Sharron Rush

Sister, Rose Joreen Jones, Brother-in-laws, LaRue Rush, Robert Rush, Harry Rush and Marvin Rush,

Sister-in-law, Judy Rush, Margaret Rush and Phyllis Rush, and Great-Grandchildren: Iris IvaMae Hees and Aiden Loveall preceded her in death.

Ottolene was a faithful member of the Nazarene Church. In the early years, she played the piano and taught Sunday School for little children for over 50 years at Eldon Nazarene Church.   A Godly example to all. She was employed at International Shoe Company in Eldon. Owned and operated Ott’s Laundromat in Tuscumbia. A cook at Miller CO R-3 School.   Most importantly a farmer’s wife for 65 years. She loved to cook and bake. She made the best birthday cakes. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She loved her family and along with Gerald she loved attending/supporting all the families school/sporting events.

Gerald and Ott were a picture of faithfulness to God, each other and their family.

Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jerry W. Frye officiating. Burial will follow at the Tuscumbia Cemetery with Pastor Tim Drake officiating.

Memorials in her name are suggested to the Chesney Rush Memorial Scholarship.
