Isauro Romeo Mapanao Bonifacio, 76 of Eldon, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at his residence in Eldon, Missouri. He was born June 17, 1947 in Manilla, Philippine Islands the son of the late Maximo and Juanita (Cununaun) Bonifacio. On September 11, 1974 in Eldon, Missouri he was united in marriage to Candace (Barker) Bonifacio who survives of the home.

Along with his parents, a son, Clint Waller, son-in-law, Tim Bushman, brother-in-law, Jim Weitz, and nephew James Weitz preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Eldon, MO where he served as an Elder, and in the United States Navy.
Romeo was a violinist, turned guitar player. In the 1960's he played in the band Lewie and The 7 Days. While in the Navy he traveled with the USO overseas with Bob Hope, entertaining troops in Vietnam from all over the world. After the Navy he played with Granny's Bathwater, and became a well-known musician in the Springfield and St. Robert/Waynesville area, his influence was recognized by artists such as the Ozark Mountain Daredevils who paid tribute to him on their first album. He played many weekends at the Goose Creek Lounge, Lake of the Ozarks, Jefferson City, and throughout the Midwest. Many also knew him for his craftmanship and wood working. When his busy hands were not at work, he enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with a Memorial Service beginning at 4:00 PM with Rev Bill Fogelsong officiating. Burial will be private for the family at the Eldon City Cemetery.
