Howard G. Vann, 81 of Eldon, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at SSM St. Mary’s Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born September 18, 1941 in Eldon, Missouri the son of the late William Harley and Edna Hazel (Worthley) Vann. On January 22, 1961 in Eldon, Missouri he was united in marriage to Betty Jo (Denny) Vann who preceded him in death on November 28, 2012.

Sister, Marilynn Judd (George) of Barnett, MO

Howard was a member of the First Christian Church of Eldon, MO for sixty years, serving as a Deacon, an Elder, as Board Chairman and Building Chairman for the church remodel addition. He was owner/manager of Eldon Hardware and Lumber Company for thirty-four years. He was President of Mid-MO Lumber Association, President of Mid-America (six states) Lumber Association; he was a past President of the Eldon County Club; past President of the Eldon School Board; and Vice-President of the Osage River Antiques Power Association. Howard was a Charter Member of the Missouri Allis Chalmers Club. Howard served on the National Lumber Association Board. Eldon Lion’s Club; Eldon Chamber of Commerce Board; Quality Industries Board; Eldon Booster Club; Friends of Music; Howard also was the recipient of the “Citizen of the Year” Award of the Eldon Chamber of Commerce.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO,
Funeral Service will be Monday, December 5, 2022 at the First Christian Church of Eldon, MO at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bill Foglesong & Pastor James Schupp officiating. Burial will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery.
