Gerald Rush Obituary

Gerald Edwin Rush, 86, of Tuscumbia, Missouri passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at his home in Tuscumbia, Missouri surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born June 9, 1938 in Eugene, Missouri the son of the late Roy E. and Milda M. (Hager) Rush.  On July 17, 1960 in Eldon, Missouri he was united in marriage to Ottolene (Musick) Rush who survives of the home.

Other survivors include in addition to his loving wife of almost 65 years:

Daughter, Denise Wilson (Steven) of Tuscumbia, MO along with their son, Benjamin Wilson (Emilee), and grandchildren, Nevaeh, Brayleigh, Briarlynn and Aiden

Son, Dennis Rush of Ulman, MO and children with Sheila Rush: daughter, Shelby Franks (Ben), grandchildren Makenna and Kipp; son, Sawyer Rush (Amber), grandchildren Paisley, Knoxley, and Wayde; daughter Summer McDermott (Matt), grandchild baby McDermott; daughter, Scout Rush (Peyton); and daughter, Sage Rush

Daughter, Dawn Rising (Billy) of Eldon, MO along with their daughters Emily Adams (Joseph), grandchild Asher Adams; Reagan Rising (Blake), and grandchild, baby Hees

Siblings, Kenneth Rush and Sammy Rush

Sisters-in-laws, Rosetta Rush and Sharron Rush

Brothers, LaRue Rush, Robert Rush, Harry Rush and Marvin Rush, Sisters-in-law, Judy Rush, Margaret Rush and Phyllis Rush, and one Great-Granddaughter, Iris IvaMae Hees preceded him in death.

Gerald was a faithful member of the Nazarene Church.   A Godly example to all. He was a former school board member of Miller County R-3 in Tuscumbia, MO and a former Village of Tuscumbia board member.  He was a devoted family man and loved attending/supporting all the families school/sporting events. He also loved to go camping. Gerald worked at O&R Poultry, Co-owner/operator of Rush Trucking.  He was a lifelong farmer, raising turkeys and cattle. His greatest love was being with his family. Gerald and Ott are a picture of faithfulness to God, each other and their family.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 3:00 PM with Rev. Jerry W. Frye officiating.  Burial will follow at the Tuscumbia Cemetery with Pastor Tim Drake officiating.

Memorials in his name are suggested to the Chesney Rush Memorial Scholarship.
