Frederick G. Evers, of Mary’s Home, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Miller County Nursing Home in Tuscumbia, Missouri. He was born on September 28, 1929 in Mary’s Home, Missouri to the late Conrad A. and Anna M. (Kirkweg) Evers. He was married in Mary’s Home, Missouri on July 12, 1952 to Margaret Ann (Berendzen) who survives at the home.
Frederick was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home, MO. He graduated from Eugene, MO High School in 1948. He served 2 years of active duty and 6 years of inactive reserve in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War earning the rank of Sergeant and served as Administrative Chief Operations Section Seventh Engineer Battalion Force Troops Fleet Marine Force Pacific. He was a lifetime member of the Samuel F. Gearhart Detachment Marine Corps League and served on the Marine Corps League Honor Guard. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Fred was a lifetime resident of Mary’s Home, MO. He was a milk hauler for Kraft Foods Company of Eldon, MO and also a diary farmer. In 1969 he went to work at the Jefferson City, MO U.S Post Office, in 1976 he was transferred to Columbia, MO to the general mail facility, he also served as Officer in Charge at Tuscumbia, MO U.S. Post Office, and served as Postmaster at Henley, MO U.S. Post Office where he retired. He served on the Finance Committee of Our Lady of the Snows Church.
He enjoyed camping with his family and traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his family. And called all the grandkids and great-grandkids chips off the old block.
Survivors include 7 children, Randy Evers (Joy) of Columbia, Debbie Schulte (Jerry) of Mary’s Home, Roger Evers (Denise Wankum) of Mary’s Home, Tom Evers of Ashland, Alan Evers (Joann) of St. Elizabeth, Tim Evers (Paula) of Mary’s Home and Bryan Evers (Stacey) of Mary’s Home. 17 Grandkids, Charlie Evers (Lora), Krystal Evers (Jeremy Leipholtz), Eric Schulte (Brittany), Brandon Schulte (Victoria), Tori Berendzen (Jeremy), Jessica Hughes (Steve), Emily Schulte (Jeremiah), Matt Evers (Amy), Steven Evers (Sahar), Brett Evers, Josh Evers (Lindsey), Brittany Otto (Jake), Lindsey Evers, Brooke Schmidt (Tyler), Austin Evers, Noah Evers and Hannah Evers, great-grandkids, Gage, Avery and Caroline Evers, Ryan and Jackson Mehalic, Sarray and Aubrey Schulte, Kaylin, Dean, Maggie and Angeline Berendzen, Emerson Schulte, Macy and Emma Otto, Madeline and Reid Evers, Carson, Clair and Camille Hughes, Nolan, Adam, Braden, Elsie and Cohen Schulte, Layla and Luke Evers, Hudson Schmidt. Brother, Sylvester Evers (Carol) and sister, Anna Marie Braun (Dave), sisters-in-law, Liz Evers and Dorothy Berendzen.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ilde Evers and Bernard Evers and a sister, Martina Goeller (Ben), brother and sisters-in-law, Irene Lepper (Norbert), Francis Rademann (Edwin), Helen Marie Clarkston (Lawrence) and Leander Berendzen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Snows Parish Center with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Simon Kanyike officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided.
Memorials in his name are suggested to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church or Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School.
