Fred W. Perkins, 85, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at his residence in Eldon, Missouri. He was born September 21, 1938 in Boone County, Missouri the son of the late Charles W. and Elsie Lee (Forsee) Perkins. On June 19, 1959 in Ashland, Missouri he was united in marriage to Fern (Nichols) Perkins who preceded him in death on March 28, 2002.
Survivors include,
Daughter, Cheryl Perkins Watts (Johnny) of Henley, MO
Son, Ronnie W. Perkins of Eldon, MO
Seven Grandchildren
Sister, Janice L. Perkins Price (William C.) of Topeka, KS
A Nephew & three Nieces
Along with his parents, and his wife, a brother, Donald R. Perkins and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Fred began his career in law enforcement in Columbia, MO in 1960. He then moved to Eldon, MO where he was a patrolman for the City of Eldon and eventually becoming Chief of Police for six years. He was owner/operator of Muffl-It-Shop in Eldon for ten years and then to Miller County Sheriff’s Dept as a jailer. Fred was a member of the Goshen Baptist church in Wilton, MO.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
Per his wishes, his body has been cremated and private family interment will be held next to Fern at Dooley Cemetery near Eldon, MO.
Memorials in his name are suggested In Care of the Family.
