Eugene “Gene” Arthur White, age 90, of Tuscumbia, Missouri passed away at home on October 16th, 2024. He was born in Hutchinson, Kansas to Earl Frederick and Elva Fay White.
In 1952, Gene married Janet Lee Boaz. Gene and Janet would have celebrated 72 years of marriage this November. Their legacy of faithfulness and commitment to one another has been an inspiration to many. Gene considered it a privilege to help care for Janet as rheumatoid arthritis took away some of her independence. His only concern during his dying days was that someone would take care of Janet when he was gone. Gene and Janet raised seven children, and were devoted grandparents to 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his wife, Janet; his seven children: Laura Ash & husband Mitch, Debi Hall & husband Dave, Jeanine Miller & husband Garry, Rick White & wife Wendy, Missy Neff & husband Brad, Terri Miller, and Tammi Hoecker & husband Bruce; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and his sisters JoAnn Fowler and Elva Johnson.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Fay White; his grandson Travis Ash; and siblings, Edgar & wife Doris, Ray & wife Lorene, Helen & husband Ralph, Floyd & wife Alma Lou; brothers-in-law, Lynn Fowler & Boyd Johnson.
Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Eldon Church of the Nazarene with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 AM.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials in his name are suggested to Eldon Church of the Nazarene.
