Eleanor L Moore (Roberts) Hickey, 87 passed away October 6, 2024, at Parkview Nursing Facility in Bolivar, MO. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Mitchel Hickey.
Eleanor was born April 3, 1937 in Memphis, Missouri to George William and Blanche Elizabeth Findley Moore. To this union were born three children, eldest sister, Paula; brother, Dee; and Eleanor.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her mother Blanche, father George, stepmother Lula, sister Paula Ludwick, and brother Dee Moore.
She is survived by her children, Rory (Judi) Roberts of Slidell, LA; Eric (Patty) Roberts of Springfield, and Norman (Michelle) Roberts of Bolivar; ten grandchildren, Danielle, Rebecca, Ryan, Joshua (Kimmie), Jason, Logan, Erica, Max, Branden (Hillary), Michael (Abbigail); five beautiful great-grandchildren; nieces Katherine (Scott) Lodge, Rosalie (Bob) Willard, Judith (Jim) Buschling; and nephew Darrell (Kim) Ludwick.
She was united in marriage to Mitchel Hickey February 14, 1999. She is survived by Mitchel and his children Dianne (Jim) Jackson of Naples, Fl; Lisa (Clifford) Homan of Eldon, and Ryan (Darla) Hickey of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Michele Gellis, Cody Pittman, Cory and Cassidy Homan, Braden, Ethan and Cora Hickey; and two precious great-grandchildren.
Eleanor loved the Lord. She talked often about how Jesus saves and takes care of her. She sang praises and recited her favorite scripture, Matthew 6: 9-15. Eleanor spent her life educating others, giving to those who had disabilities or challenges and spent many summers working with the Special Olympics. She donated a large amount of her time and resources serving her community. She was a founding leader of Hope House food pantry and thrift store and donated the site upon which it is built.
Memorial donation may be made to Hope House of 40 Lakeland Road, Lake Ozark, MO 65049 in honor of Eleanor Lillian Hickey.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 PM. Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.
