Edward “Eddy” L. Simmons, 75, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away at his Farm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
He was born August 7, 1949, in California, Missouri, the son of the late Clifford Eugene and Margaret Louise (Bradick) Simmons. On October 24, 1970, in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, he married the love of his life, Rhonda (Hickey) Simmons, who survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Deborah K. Leonard, and a brother- in-laws, Bruce Hickey, Richard Thomas & John Hammond.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ed served his country with honor before returning home to work alongside his father at ReadyGas of Eldon, MO. He later owned; operated Gasco Propane of Eldon, MO, where he built a reputation for his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to his employees and customers. Ed took great pride in leading the best propane delivery drivers, service technicians, and customer service representatives in the industry. He valued their hard work, loyalty, and service, considering them an extension of his own family.
Ed was deeply involved in the propane industry and his community. He’s the Past President of the Missouri Propane and Gas Association (MPGA) & Past Chair for the Missouri Propane Education and Research Council (MOPERC). He also served on the board for University of Missouri Miller County Extension. He was also a board member for Farm Bureau Cattlemen’s Association & NRA. A lifelong supporter of agriculture, he remained a dedicated cattleman & lifetime member of FFA. His faith was central to his life and was a devoted Christian attending the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon, MO. A funeral service will take place on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO, with Rev. David White and Robert North officiating. Burial will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery with full military
honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Mid-MO Honor Flight or the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
