Obituary

Earl W. Glenn, age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Lake Regional Hospital. He was born October 16, 1948, in Abilene, Kansas, to Arland and Beulah (Everett) Glenn. He was a graduate of Abilene High School.  He served in the United States Marines from 1968 to 1970.  He married Dixie Lee Wilsey on July 17, 1982, in Columbia, MO. The love of his life!

Earl retired from Boone Hospital Center after 24 years as a Support Service Supervisor.  In his early years, Earl enjoyed bird hunting, in Iowa, with his friends.  When the family decided to move to the Lake, he started working as a Maintenance Supervisor at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Versailles.  His love of building and woodworking lead him to build numerous decks in which all of his family enjoyed. In 1992, he built his first lake house in the Gravois Arm.  This led to numerous weekends swimming and boating with his wife, kids, grandchildren, and lake family.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie; his three daughters, Sherri Hurst, Michelle (Brian) Parks, and Brandi (Justin) Steele and son Drew (Alana) Glenn. His eight grandchildren, Garrett (Kristin) Hurst, Ashli (Skyler) McCreedy, Austin Hurst, Kayla Parks, Zane Parks, Gabriel Steele, Jaxson Keeney, Kaisyn Glenn; and three great-grandchildren, Kassidy Hurst, Hadly Hurst, John McCreedy; sister, Judy Jones.
