Doris Lee Wyrick, 89 of Tuscumbia, Missouri passed away on March 9, 2020 at Miller County Care Center in Tuscumbia, surrounded by her son and daughter. She was born August 28, 1930, around Tuscumbia, Missouri, to Issac and Barcie Wright, both who preceded her in death. On May 17, 1947, she married her husband, Gail who also has preceded her in death. They were married for 55 years. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Robert Wright. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Larry and Judy Wyrick of Tuscumbia, MO, and her daughter and son in law, Linda and Bob Shepherd of Zephyrhills, FL, one granddaughter, Mona Wyrick of Wichita, KS, one grandson, Brandon Wyrick of Gulfport, MS, six great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, six step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
Doris attended both the Wright School and Tuscumbia High School where she graduated. She also worked at the high school, employed as a cook for several years, for the state of Missouri, and the Bible Bookstore in Eldon, MO. She was heavily involved at the Tuscumbia Baptist Church.
In summary, Doris’s thoughts in her own words are as follows:
“My highpoint in life would have to be the blessing of always having my family and friends around to support me. They are the most important to me! My main motto in life is: Keep God first in your life and try to be a friend to everyone, like He has been to us.”
Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO. Funeral Service will be Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Tuscumbia First Baptist Church with Rev. David Visser officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tuscumbia, MO.
Memorials in her name are suggested to Mt. Zion Cemetery.
