It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our dearly loved and cherished Donald Isaac to colon cancer, at his home in Rocky Mount, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family and dear friends on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 20th, 2022 at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon, MO from 1:00 – 3:00.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Mary Gabrielle of 31 years. His daughter, Misty and husband, Don; his son, Daniel and wife, Shawna. Grandchildren, Mary Taylor, Nathan and Victoria. His brother Roger, and sisters, Bonnie and Ruth. Donald was preceded in his death by his beloved grandson, Joseph; twin brother, Ronald; sister Patricia; and mother and father.
Don was born in Kennett, located in the Bootheel of Missouri, on June 12, 1948 to Winfred and Deline Isaac. He enlisted into the Air Force in 1967 and served two tours in Vietnam as a Security Policeman. He later enlisted into the Missouri Air National Guard at the 131st Fighter Wing and achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and later as the Wing Master Chief Master Sergeant Enlisted Advisor. Donald was a seasoned law enforcement officer with over 40 years of service as a deputy to eventually obtaining the position of Director of the St. Charles Police Academy. After his move to Lake of the Ozarks in 1998, Donald served as the Captain of the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force that was recognized as one of the top task forces in the State of Missouri for their work on cracking down on the production and distribution of methamphetamine. At the same time of his employment, he also had his own business, Bootheel Regional Training LLC, teaching law enforcement classes throughout the state of Missouri.
Don earned his Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from the University of Missouri in 1977 and later achieved his master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.
Don held many ancillary positions throughout his life, too many to list, but most recently, a board member for the Rocky Mount Fire Department, a member of the Amvets Post 108, and the co-founder with his wife, Mary Gabrielle, of the Angels with Tails Animal Sanctuary.
Don was an avid hunter, fisherman and storyteller. He had a smile that never ended and a genuineness like no other. He adored his children and grandchildren and always made time for anyone that needed a helping hand.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Angels with Tails Animal Sanctuary at 20700 Happy Tails Lane, Rocky Mount, MO 65072 as Don truly loved the rescue and rehabilitation of the many animals they rescued.
