Deborah Faye Landon

Deborah Faye Landon, was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 at her residence in Eldon, Missouri.  Born on August 28, 1953 in Boonville, Missouri, to the late Vernon Landon and Dolores Faye (Hutchison) Benfer.  Deborah lived a life filled with love for her family, and friends.

Deborah was the cherished sister of Reba and Russell Landon.  Her relationship with Reba was more than just sisters, they were best friends who shared countless adventures together as rummage sale buddies.  As a devoted mother to Cornelia Faye Williams (Mark) and Steven Kyle Wickam (Jackie), Deborah poured her heart into raising her children.  She took immense pride in being a grandmother to Sebastian Williams, Scarlett Wickam, Elijah Williams, Ava Shaw, Kylee Wickam, and most recently became a great-grandmother to Elora Faye Williams.  She was a loving Aunt to Christy Eads, Freddie Eads, Shannon Jones, Rachel Landon, Robin Landon, Morgan Faye & multiple great Nieces and Nephews.  Each moment spent with them brought joy that lit up her life.  Deborahs’s warmth extended beyond her immediate family; she embraced all those around her with open arms and an infectious smile.

Professionally dedicated throughout her career spanning over two decades at the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Jefferson City where she retired after 23 years.  Deb made significant contributions during stints at Northside in Rocky Mount as well as Dinwiddie’s Processing in Eldon.  Her time working in Human Resources at the Lodge of Four Seasons showcased not just her skill but also how much she valued people’s potential.

A Forever Friend and Sister of the Shady Ladies for over 50 years and as the “Queen of the Red Hot Foxy YaYa’s” from Eldon, a title that reflected a fun-loving spirit.  Through six years leading Girl Scouts locally alongside nurturing student organizations, like SkillsUSA & FCCLA; Deb inspired many young lives while fostering friendships that would last a lifetime.  Another passion was her love for Nascar racing along with dirt track events provided thrills that matched the excitement found within family gatherings where laughter and music echoed through every room filled by loved ones sharing stories or simply enjoying each other’s company.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude towards Lake Regional Hospice staff, whose compassionate care enhanced Deb’s quality of life during challenging times.  As well as Dr. Vineela Kassireddy at Goldsmith Cancer Center for providing exceptional medical support throughout this journey.     

Visitation will be Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Eldon First Christian Church of Eldon, MO allowing friends near and far an opportunity to come together to honor such a remarkable woman whose legacy will forever remain etched with in our hearts touched by kindness radiating from one extraordinary soul name Deborah Faye Landon with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bill Foglesong officiating.  Private Family Interment will be held at the Eldon City Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials in her name are suggested to Lake Regional Hospice.
