Dan McCarty Obituary

Dan McCarty, 89, of Rocky Mount, Missouri passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 at his residence in Rocky Mount, Missouri.  He was born August 7, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Daniel and Theresa (Kamp) McCarty. On February 3, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri he was united in marriage to Maria (Suykerbuyk) McCarty who survives of the home.

Children, Annette Gunter (Ron) of St. Louis, MO; Theresa Lesinski (Bill) of Bloomsdale, MO; Frank McCarty (Tracy) of O’Fallon, MO; Linda Wickham of CA; Gerry Moore of TN; Cheryl McBride of CA; Gene McCarty of OR

 

Sister, Judith Sepac of Manchester, MO

 

Brother, Keith McCarty (Terri) of O’Fallon, MO

 

Twelve Grandchildren & Six Great Grandchildren

 

Several Nieces & Nephews

 

Along with his parents, a sister, Collette Sweet a grandson, Michael Gunter, and a son in law, Wendell Kinnaird preceded him in death.

 

Dan served in the United States Marines as an E7 Gunnery Sgt and devoted much of his career to the military before retiring.   He was employed as a mail carrier and after retiring was employed with the St. Louis County Special School District as a bus driver until his retirement.   Dan was a life member of the DAV and a member of the Fleet Reserve and the AMVETS Post 108 of Rocky Mount, MO.

 

Graveside Services with no viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 12:30 PM at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, MO with Full Military Honors presented.

 

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
