Cathy Ryherd Obituary

Cathy Lynn McCartney Ryherd peacefully passed away at her home early morning on December 8, 2012 after fighting the biggest battle of her life. She was born in Bloomfield, Iowa on July 26, 1961. In March of 2012 Cathy underwent a massive surgery removing five organs where she was given a thirty percent chance of becoming a colon and ovarian cancer survivor. Despite her hardships, she taught anyone that came along her journey what it meant to stand up for something and fight. Cathy helped her parents open Charlies Foods in Versaiills, MO and in 1992, as a single mom of three boys, Cathy graduated from Merrell University. She married Rick Ryherd on March 10, 2001 and by 2002 owned her own salon, On Stage Highlights. She was passionate, dedicated, strong-willed and always stood for what was right. She had a heart for people and a heart for children as she always put the needs of others first and truly understood what it meant to sacrifice. She is survived by her husband, Rick Van Ryherd; four children, Ryan McCartney, Beau McCartney, Cameron McCartney and SaLise Ryherd-Adlong; three grandchildren, Mason McCartney, Aaron Cutshaw and Rhyder Adlong; her mother; Mary Simpson, Three sisters, and many more family members and friends. Services will be held in the Suite H at the Concord Baptist Church Annex, Jefferson City, at 11:00 am December 15, 2012. Parking will be in front of the church across from the Hy-Vee parking lot. In lieu of flowers you can make donations to the Cathy Ryherd Memorial Fund, c/o Roll Funeral Home, 211 South Oak, California, MO 65018. All gifts will be donated to St. Louis Children's Hospital, Hospice Compassus and other charities.
