Carl H. Hees, age 92, passed away peacefully at University Hospital in Columbia, MO on December 14, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born September 30, 1932 in Eldon, MO to Irl and Lena (Hoskins) Hees. Carl attended West Aurora one-room school and graduated from Eldon High School in 1951.
On June 16, 1957 in Eldon, MO, Carl was united in marriage to Ruth Lee (Vernon) Hees, who survives. In addition to his wife of 67 years, Carl is survived by son, Michael Hees and wife Debra of Barnett, Missouri. Two grandchildren, Aaron Hees and wife Megan, and Andrea Davis and husband Dylan of Eldon, Missouri. Four great-grandchildren, Mason and Avah Hees and Mack and Deacon Davis of Eldon, Missouri. Brother and sister-in laws: Marie and Glen Pieper, Doris and Larry Lambeth, Frank and Candy Vernon, and Don and Laslee Vernon. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Isabelle Williams, Albert Hees, Jack Hees, Barb Woodard, and Elizabeth Fisher.
Mr. Hees worked at the Eldon Equipment Co. and also for Hebel Buick. He operated the Skelly Service Station from 1963-1985, and then the Phillips 66 Service Station, retiring in 1995. He worked on his son’s farm after he retired.
He served in the Army and was stationed in Korea. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a member of the Eldon First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and the Eastern Star Chapter 14 in Jefferson City. He received a Masonic 50-year pin and also the Scottish Rite 50-year pin.
Services for Carl Hees will be held at the Eldon First Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 with visitation 10:00 a.m.-12:00, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Memorials are suggested to the Eldon First Baptist Church or Take Heart Ministries.
