Billie “Sue” Wyrick, 90, of Tuscumbia, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Lake Regional Hospital from complications due to COVID-19.
She was born May 28, 1930, the daughter of Bert Apperson and Margaret (Thompson) Humphrey. She was a 1949 graduate of Tuscumbia High School.
Sue was united in marriage to Kenneth Wyrick on July 6, 1951. They were married for 67 years before he preceded her in death on January 14, 2018.
Sue had a strong work ethic. She worked several years for Brockman Novelty Products in Tuscumbia and Fasco Industries in Eldon. Sue also worked as a teacher’s aide at Tuscumbia Elementary School.
Sue was an excellent seamstress, a wonderful cook and her green thumb was known to all. She was an active member of the Tuscumbia Baptist Church. Most of all, Sue loved her family.
She is survived by three children, Steve (Myrna) Wyrick of Eldon, Missouri, Kenny (Connie) Wyrick of Tuscumbia, and Debbie Blansett of Eldon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Joshua (Bevin) Wyrick, Jacob (Krista) Wyrick, Adam (Julie) Wyrick, Paige (Spencer) Oberg, and Jordan (Kristina) Blansett; eight great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren. Sue is also survived by 4 siblings, Ruth (Gail) Workman, Bud (Linda) Kratzer, Rose (Bob) Flora and Kay Haggerman.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jerry Apperson, Dave Apperson and three sisters, Louise Myers, Pat Ross and Carol Meisel.
The family will have a private graveside service at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tuscumbia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia.
