Betty “Kathy” (Wimpey) Matteo, 78, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at her residence. She was born February 9, 1947 in Goodman, Missouri, the daughter of the late Prosper Earl and Almeda Lenora (Buzzard) Wimpey. On July 3, 1995 in Eldon, Missouri she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Matteo who preceded her in death on June 14, 2012.

Grandchildren, Jacqueline Danielle “Dani” Brown and husband Josh and their two children of Alamo, AR; Angelica Paige Merryman of Aurora, CO; Shelby Laine Johnson of Jefferson City, MO; Nathan Robert Heidbreder of Jefferson City, MO
Great-Grandchildren, Gabriela, Hector and Lilith
Sister, Deborah Hellwig of Joplin, MO
Along with her parents and husband, a daughter, Susan Kathleen Steele, granddaughter, Nichole Preciado, brother, Earl Wimpey, Jr. and sister, Mary McCall preceded her in death.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Eldon Church of the Nazarene and the American Legion. She was employed as an accountant for the Lake of the Ozarks Community Toll Bridge for twenty years.
Per her wishes, her body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Eldon Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jerry Frye officiating.
Memorials in her name are suggested to Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association or to the Eldon Church of the Nazarene.
