Bernice J Miller, 98, of Lake Ozark, Mo passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2023.
Bernice was born May 20,1925 in Guthrie, Mo to the parents of Clarence and Lena Wefenstette. She was married to Eugene Miller of Fulton Mo, and they had three daughters.
She is survived by her family, Sandra Kaye Hill (Lonnie Hill) of Independence MO, Nancy Anne Kimsey (William Kimsey) of Santa Barbara CA; and Barbara Jean Miller Webb (Jeffrey Webb)of Weldon Spring MO. Bernice Miller has four grandchildren; Brandon Hill (Jill Hill) of Owasso OK, Michaella Richmond(Nick Richmond) of Scottsdale AZ, Brady Webb and Bailey Webb of St Charles MO. Bernice Miller had four great grandchildren; Bryce Richmond, Jack Hill, Conner Hill and Mollie Hill.
Bernice was predeceased by five sisters: Lillian Handlang, Jewell Hansen, Ardrey Quinn, Clarice Mosnick and Opal Payne.
The family moved to Eldon Mo in 1963, where they purchased a Phillips 66 Petroleum marketing business. She was president of B.J. Miller Oil Company from 1971 to October 1998 when she sold the business.
Bernice was a member of First Christian Church of Eldon where she was a board member serving as treasure, deacon, elder, and on the Service Committee. Bernice served on various local committees in the community:
Beta Sigma Phi where she served as vice president and president of the chapter.
Member of the Lions Club.
Board member and treasurer of Eldon Gateway Industries.
Treasurer of the Miller County American Cancer Society.
Eldon Chamber of Commerce.
Lake of the Ozark Association where she served on the tourism committee.
Member of the Evening Entrepreneur Club G.F.W.C. She was treasurer several years and president for two years.
In 1998, Bernice retired and spent her time playing bridge and enjoying the family.
Services will be held at Phillips Funeral home Eldon MO on Saturday, August 12th at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am. The burial service will be held in Fulton Mo at Hillcrest Cemetery at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Christian Church of Eldon Foundation or Tunnel 2 Towers.
